Released in 2023, this mod for Skyrim: Special Edition adds an Argonian follower, fully voiced by me. Once a bandit, now a fugitive, he made his way from Black Marsh to Morrowind and eventually to Skyrim, where he keeps a low profile but isn't afraid to draw steel when needed. He doesn’t carry himself like a hero or a villain—just someone who’s survived long enough to know the difference between a fight worth having and a pointless death. Despite his rough exterior, Vince isn’t needlessly cruel or reckless. He values self-sufficiency, respects skill, and has little patience for those who act without thinking.
In battle, Vince fights with speed and precision, favouring light armour and a silver sword, though he’s not above using whatever works to stay alive. He also has a knack for self-healing, ensuring he won’t drop at the first sign of trouble. His dialogue reflects his experience, offering reactive commentary on quests, locations, and player actions, with a tone that shifts depending on the situation—sometimes sarcastic, sometimes serious, but always grounded. He won’t flatter you, but if he sticks around, it’s because he sees potential in you, or at least a reason to keep going.
I made Vince as a mix of experimentation, portfolio work, and just wanting a follower who didn’t feel flat or predictable. I wanted to create a character who reacted to the world in a way that felt natural—someone who wasn’t just tagging along but actually paying attention. His dialogue was built piece by piece, recorded and edited to sound like he belonged in the game, with an emphasis on delivery that felt sharp, sometimes dry, but never overacted. I didn’t want him to sound like he was reading lines off a page, so I played around with tone, pacing, and subtle shifts in personality depending on the situation.
The whole process was part technical challenge, part creative exercise. I wanted to see if I could make a follower that felt more reactive without relying on exaggerated quirks or gimmicks. A lot of characters (Especially vanilla NPCs in Skyrim fall into predictable patterns.) I wanted him to acknowledge things happening around him, have opinions, and not always say what the player wants to hear. It wasn’t just about making another mod; it was about testing how much personality I could inject into a game that wasn’t built for that level of nuance. And, honestly, I just wanted to see if I could pull it off. Evidently, as of March 2025, it has over 1,000 downloads! How cool!
EGO VERA (2021)
In 2021, I made a short horror film for a TAFE project, filmed entirely with a green screen. The entire environment was in Garry’s Mod, utilising user-made assets to create an eerie, liminal atmosphere. Every scene was carefully composited to immerse the protagonist in unsettling, dreamlike spaces, blending practical performance with digital environments. The result was a surreal horror experience that blurred the line between reality and simulation.
